    Weber Genesis EP-320

Hi folks, me again. The igniter switch housing collar failed. The little clips that hold it in broke off after 8 years of daily driving. I notified Weber NZ and they courier me a new one under warrantee. Took a month as the have to get the O.K. thru chain of command, but it got here. I like it when you get the new part with all the bits and original instructions pertaining to the part. So well done once again, Weber.

Weber NZ found a manifold for me but I delayed the shipping as we were in Canada for 23 days of fun. They have agreed to supplying me a new manifold no charge and nI ow await delivery. Thanks WEBER!

I contacted Weber today and they are trying to track down a new manifold. I got the impression it would be a freebie. Were mid winter here and off to Canada at the end of the month to catch some summer, so were not too panicky about this. Mean while, giving it a good scrub. Flavorizer bars out and steeli wooli soapy pads and waterblaster action. Keep you posted.

    Weber Genesis EP-320

Hey guys, me again. I joined this thread in 2009 so my BBQ is 7 years old now. New problem, the heat handles that you turn to make hotter, colder are getting sticky and stiff. No bounce up and down on the handles . Like when you want to turn the heat know ,you have to push it down then turn. Mine seem to be stuck "DOWN" except the first "STARTER" Dial. Tries lifting off the plastic handles and WD40 and trying to pull the brass inside up and down with needle nose plyers but no joy. Any ideas?

Now were cookin! So I got the new regulator this morning and swapped it over, and the problem has been solved. 8 minutes to 450 Farenheit which is XLNT imho. One thing that I learned from all this is that the correct shut down procedure is to turn off the the control knobs first then turn off the LPG bottle. I have always turned off the LPG bottle first and did the control knobs next time around. Doin it the wrong way around can supposedly trigger the safety valve in the regulator. So thanks very much to Weber and Rich for your sound advice.

Hey Rich, Thanks very much for your reply. I phoned Weber NZ and they emailed me a solution which is basically the same as yours. All dials and LPG gas bottle on off. Disconnect LPG gas. Open and close the gas taps. Turn on bottle, turn on start cap to full and engage spark , etc. I spend last afternoon and this morning timing heat rise rates and always inconsistent. So Weber is sending me a new regulator with hose bottle attachment bbq mains fitting combo. Good service and helpful on the phone. The BBQ is getting a good maintenance and cleaning out of this ordeal. Anyhoo, Anxiously awaiting the courier. To be cont.

Hi all, Got my replacement flavorizer bars and Weber NZ threw in a new set of burner tubes too. I sent them an email with the dodgy tubes as per photo. So THANKS WEBER! I replaced the tubes but it hasn't solved my original problem, which is that it won't get past 440 degrees Farenheit or 225 Celsius. Im doing the correct start procedure, open lid, open log valve quarter turn or note wait a few secs before engaging closest burner to start and engaging start ignition. is my control regulated on the blink, I wonder? How can I check it? Ive done the soapy spray on all fittings. Thanks!

Hey Ronald, Thanks for the eBay tip. I contacted the official distributer here in NZ and they are selling me new flav bars directly and replacing the cross flow pipe and all the bits the gas comes out of FREE! So looking good. Hopefully get delivery this week. As for usage, she's a daily driver. cheers D

    Weber Genesis EP-320

Hey! You guys still kicking? Joined this thread in 2009 when I took delivery. I know because I found this thread. So my Genesis is 5 years, flavorizer bars rusted out, and the cross flow pipe got a bit trashed so new parts are coming! Heres a shot of my unit with its 2 customised end tables. The left one has a pull out chip maker drawer top, fire extinguisher and paper trash bin bottom, and the right side table has a pull out garbage bin. The right one has a pull up small lid for quick dump. Both tops are galvanised roofing tin and both are on castors so we can swing the kitchen into the wind. All the best!

THX! for the replies, gents. I slept on it, and read your comments. I tried again this morning and still couldnt get the temp. above 200f. Trouble shooted and found the external range plate on the left, had the gas turned to on. So that was the culprit. Restarted with it off and reached 450ish f. in 5 minutes, so NOW WERE COOKIN WITH GAS! Chops tonite!

Hi Ronald, Thanks for the welcome. Funny thing, 1) new e-320 assembled 2 days ago, 2) first meal, played and looked too much,(kept lid open) was dissapointed on cooking time for 2 burgers. 3) found this forum and read. Keep hood down and preheat!" Temps shot up to 450-500 degrees F. 4) AWESUM steaks, photos to follow, promised land. Alley Lou Yah! ToDay , all 3 burners on full, 20 minutes and cant get the temp to go above 200 f. Summary, 1st try, not much heat 2nd try GOOD HEAT 3 try, not much heat. NO SIZZLE! Main bottle (LPG) open to full. Level 1/4 full. Assembled the E-310 and did the complete leak test, some of which require disassembly of starboard side ignition cover. I tried with a full bottle and temps remained the same . ???? I remain positive but feel confused and a little hungry..... WUT THE HEY ! HO ! p.s. how do I upload fotos? Will give try...
