My first BBQ on the Primo.

I haven't got my grill monitor yet but I want some BBQ and I need to do a test run before the forth. It's going to be raining all day Saturday and I'll have to fix it Sunday. So I'll be posting the progress.

 

2x 6.9 pound Boston Butts

I coated them in yellow mustard and then rubbed them really good. I injected one with apple juice to see if it makes a difference. 1st time using the injected apple juice and mustard pre rub.

Put them on for a long smoke, grate temp is holding steady at 225.

This grill has surprised me again!

 

It's held a constant temp of 230 all night until it hits a chuck of wood then the temp will rise by 10 deg. At 0545 the one I injected apple juice with was at 180. It's resting now I'll pull it in a little bit. I did a little taste test and this is the best I have made. The rub is perfect with just a little kick from the pepper. A nice chewable bark not a hard crust like it does some times. And NO nasty mustard taste.

I took the last Butt off the grill at 11:00 am and pulled it at 11:45 am. I'm liking the apple better but both have turned out as my best yet.
