Steak marinade recipe?

Anybody have any steak marinades that they are willing to share. My wife loves steak marinaded but gets sick of the same recipe all of the time. What's your favorite home made marinade recipe?

angel - I don't usually marinate my steaks, but on occasion have done so with just good old soy sauce. You'd be surprised at how tasty a cheaper cut can be made palatable by marinading overnight. An added plus is extra tender to boot! Healthier also due to less fat (spelled less marbling).

 

Okay, not really a favorite - but it does impart a very strong and delicious taste. Of course - I would never use this on an expensive cut. Then again - I'm a steak purist that likes no more than just coarse black pepper and Mediterranean sea salt on my steaks.. B)

 

By the way - what's the marinades you have usually used yourself?

My favorite that I have used is one that I got off of All Recipes

 

1/3 cup soy sauce

1/2 cup olive oil

1/3 cup fresh lemon juice

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder

3 tablespoons dried basil

1 1/2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes

1 teaspoon ground white pepper

1 teaspoon dried minced garlic (optional)

 

I have mainly used it on some sirloins or flat iron steaks.

Greg - off on a tangent here - but I just noticed your artwork - LOVED IT! You have some talent in your blood that's for sure! I love animals and you make viewing them a very pleasant and inspiring moment!

My favorite that I have used is one that I got off of All Recipes

 

1/3 cup soy sauce

A simple tasty one I like for beef and chicken is pineapple juice, teriyaki sauce and garlic powder. crushed red pepper optional to taste

 

1 part teriyaki

2 parts pineapple

1 teaspoon garlic powder per cup

12-24 hours in fridge

Jim - I've used similar to make our Hawaiian tenderloins. Except for the garlic powder. Not really steak - but merely chunks of tenderloin marinaded in the pineapple and teriyake overnight and then cooked real quickly over high heat. Okay, I'll claim lame here - I do make those in a cast iron skillet on the stove rather than on the grill.. ;)

 

But thanks for the reminder - I hadn't thought of that while racking my brain for steak marinades. I'll have to add a bit of garlic next time - should be good.

Thats about what I do also Mike, if I am having steak I just go for the steak, but Kabobs, Fajita's and such I like the marinade, I use the same recipe for jerky, except, I will hold some marinade back and put some jalipenos in the blender add those and some honey and make a glaze, then take some thin cut sirloin or london broil, sprinkle a little black pepper and put them in the grill on 140F for about 6-8 hours and mop them with the glaze, sprinkle a little crushed red on them and have some sweet sticky hot Jerky :)

after a day in the fridge the pineapple juice has almost cooked the meat if they are thin cuts, kinda like lime juice does to shrimp
