  1. I was slow to respond due to the hurricane. My avatar and sig is my grill, E-330, so the burners are on the front The correct bolt size is 12-24 x 1/2" for anyone needing them in the future. Nobody local carried hex head, they only carried phillips & flat head which are worthless for this application. I ended up having to buy some stainless ones online.
  2. Your post couldn't be more wrong. I tried to remove them because Weber's own instructions stated to do so. And lucky...for what? The CS rep didn't even hesitate to send me a new cook box once I explain what had happened. I was on / off the phone in less than 2 mins. And no, the screws aren't common at all...
  3. I recently was cleaning my E-330 and noticed that 3 of my gas tubes had rust holes towards the ends. It was covered under Webers warranty but when trying to remove the bolts 2 of the threads that are casted into the cook top snapped off. (see arrow below) Weber sent me out a new cook box and I bought some food safe anti-seize to use and I wanted to use SS bolts too but I can't find the correct thread size? I went to ACE and the closest size was M6 but it was too loose. I called Weber and asked several reps but all they were able to find out was that it had a 5/16 head. Does anyone know the correct size thread / thread pitch to use? Thanks for any help! Weber's bolt on the left / M6 on the right Weber's Part Number
  4. Did I tell yall that I love my Weber??? Only fresh ground peppercorn this time The flavorizer bars are glowing red hot! My daughter found some pink salt at the store. Salt added. Filet, baked potato and some buttermilk onion strings And key lime pie for desert That's all she wrote......
  5. Thanks. I just ordered a set.
  6. I showed cbow's pictures to my wife and I swear my mouth literally started to water like crazy after seeing the plated pictures. My daughter started laughing at me because we just ate 1 1/2" NY strips about an hour and a half ago. Chris, what are those red and black things you're using to put the chops on...lids?
  7. We just couldn't wait until tomorrow. So today was steaks and tomorrow burgers. 1 1/2" NY strips and 1" filets Olive oil, sea salt and fresh ground black peppercorn Strips resting Filets resting The filet melted in my mouth Hope everyone has a great labor day. Happy grillin'!
  8. Today was a GREAT day! My son took his first by himself outside w/ me and my wife while I was grilling our steaks. We couldn't believe it. Oh the power of the Weber! We wanted to grill these tomorrow for Labor Day but we just couldn't wait so we'll thrown some burgers on tomorrow. We had out local butcher cut these steaks for us; 1 1/2" NY strips and 1" Filets. Kept it simple, little olive oil, sea salt and fresh ground black peppercorn. On the Weber Strips Resting Filets Resting Round 1; only the filet. All I can is WOW, the filet literally melted in my mouth. Round 2; NY strip and 2 small baked potatoes. We also had fresh corn on the cob and Asparagus that we steamed on the Weber. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day tomorrow. Happy grillin'!
  9. I bought it through Amazon and I tried returning it but the last day to return it was July 28, I missed it by 2 days. Im pretty pissed off that this grill is having surface rust this soon. Its weird how a cheap Charmglow held up better to surface rust than a top of the line Weber grill.
  10. Surface rust already??? http://www.bbqsource-forums.com/invboard/index.php?showtopic=9568
  11. Well the honeymoon is over. http://www.bbqsource-forums.com/invboard/index.php?showtopic=9520 I went to cook some burgers today and noticed some surface rust on the front control panel and on the right side burner lid? I clean it thoroughly with a microfiber cloth after I grill so I dont get why or how this is happening? I bought a cover and used it for 2 days and now will only cover if rain is in the forecast since the grill itself is on my covered porch. I dont get how my Weber has surface rust after owning / using it for a month!!?? Hell, my POS Charmglow lasted 3-3 1/2 years before it started developing surface rust. Id expect more from a grill costing more than twice that of the China grill I had!! Any ideas why this is happening? I know I can probably get it out with some SS polish but that isnt the point. It shouldnt be developing surface rust this soon and especially since I dont abuse it. Pictures are below....
  12. Bought some more "toys" for the grill. I bought rcplanebuyers SS grates and flavorzier bars and I broke down and bought a Thermapen. First off, the grates and flavorzer bars are top notch quality! These grates are 9.5mm thick and from what Ive read theyre the thickest out there. The flavoizer bars are 16ga. so theyre pretty heavy duty for flavorizer bars. Dave answered all of my questions quickly and shipped out my order out promptly. Everything was VERY well packaged! Im sure these will last for many years to come. And the other "toy" I bought was a Thermapen. I originally bought a CDN DTQ450X from amazon and when I got it and tested it out in ice water it read 35.7°F? I tried calibrating it and I kept getting "ERR" and it wouldnt calibrate, so I returned it and bit the bulled and ordered the Thermapen with silicone cover and they ended up sending me a free timer. I tested the thermapen out and it read 32°F within 2 secs., no need to calibrate it and it was lightning fast. Its pretty expensive for a thermometer but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Happy Grillin'!
  13. I wanted a EP-330 but I needed it in time for the 4th of July. There were none local and amazon didnt have any that had prime shipping so I bought the E-330 and purchased SS grates & flavorizer bars from rcplanebuyer. They were delivered today and man are they heavy-duty, I couldnt believe how heavy the grates are. The SS grate bars are 9.5mm in diameter and the SS flavorizer bars are 16ga. I did alot of searching before I bought them and I didnt find any detailed pictures so I took some for anyone thinking about buying them. Quality wise these are top notch and Id definitely recommend them to anyone looking for SS grates & flavorizer bars. I'll be testing them out later tonight.
  14. I ordered my E-330 from amazon and amazon dropped shipped directly from Weber. It was delivered by a freight shipping company...no problems / damage what so ever.
  15. I ordered the SS grates from rcplanebuyer and he shipped them out a few days ago, so I hope my food comes out just as good as it does with the grates I have now. I made some burgers and brats tonight and the burgers had a nice crunchy sear on the outside. Man this grill rocks!!
