What is the best method for cleaning and maintaining Vermont Castings stainless steel exterior and the porcelain coated grills? I'm looking for the same answer!! Including the porcelan grilles and the sear plates beneath. As far as the stainless, I picked up some Stainless Steel Magic at Home Depot. Seems to be OK> I have a VM 600 five burner I fired up for the first time yesterday. The drip pan and cup were pretty easy to clearn but the grille and sear plates are another story! |

Seems to be OK> I have a VM 600 five burner I fired up for the first time yesterday. The drip pan and cup were pretty easy to clearn but the grille and sear plates are another story! On my Weber Genesis Silver B that I've only had about a month or so I just crank up the heat on high for 10-15 minutes and almost everything turns to ash. Then, after it cools down I just use my brass wire brush that is safe for porcelin coated grates (never scrape when they are hot) I get off the large pieces. Then, with my plastic scrapers (from the hardware store) I scrape the flavor bars and the sides and anything the brush didn't get on the grates. For the stainless doors and porcelin cover I just use windex or Fantanstic. Bill -------------------- Weber Genesis Silver B, Porcelain Coated Cast Iron Grates, Bought May 21st, 2006 |
