Just bought a new Char-Broil "table top" propane gas grill from Home Depot. I had plans to use it today, but while assembling came across a huge doubt. Pls imagine the burner as a flat bottle. The regulator/valve is connected to the bottle opening. On the neck of the bottle there a through square hole with a diagonal 1/2 inch size. I feel that when the gas is on, it will leak from this. Is this right? A picture of the grill can be seen at http://www.charbroil.com/grills/table_top.asp. Any info on this will be immensely helpful.

biggrin.gif That is the venturi vent. When the grills is lit the the burners pull oxygen for combustion through that that hole. If it becomes cloged you will get yellow / orange flames with plenty of soot. Worse yet your BBQ could fill with un-burned gas an really flare up.
