While not even close to as exciting and perfect as Brucereds turkey, I had a meager breakfast today. It was destinedt to be 12 hours of snowblowing. I got my energy from four eggs and toasted whole wheat. Oh yea - and a glass of OJ (not the guy with the glove).

Well, it's been a while since I posted any photos on the forum but I have enjoyed seeing food pics from other members. Not sure about the take out food ones, though, as I can get some ideas and inspiration from our original cooks, but that's just me.

And I do prefer quality pics rather than quantity, but that's ust me again.

Tonight, boneless bbq chicken breast (I butterflied the 5 pound hen and grilled it on the Weberm basting with my sauce) with hoisin/apricot sauce, brown & wild rice with apricot puree, fresh spinach and broccoli.

my wife made a side of fried rice, but we were too busy getting everything ready to get a plate shot, but here are some while the skewers were on the bbq

Okay - I'm just over a half hour or so late posting the winners of December's Pic Poster of the Month (I stated I would post the top 5 places on the 5th the following month).
Here you go:

Congratulations to our FIRST PLACE WINNER (drum roll)

1st Place (9)
gunksny

2nd Place (tied at 8 each)
brucered/cuskit

3rd Place (6)
Old Grouch

4th Place (tied at 3 each)
beach/tachout

5th Place (tied at 2 each)
bluesin/durango kid

Nice job, guys!

Hoping January will have a better showing! Remember - quality doesn't matter - only quantity (and only one photo counts for each meal if posting several) So let's kick it in high gear for January!

If quality counted - I'd have to say it would be a draw between shelly and old grouch! Both just blow me away with the awesome shots they submit. smile.gif

I'd also like to thank our newest pic poster of the month - tachout, who did a great job of jumping in here with some really wonderful pictures!

Well, this will be the first for the new Decade. Windmill hot dogs, picked up for dinner this evening. I'll cook them on my GriddleQ as per Ronalds chart showing griddle franks score higher than grilled hot dogs. I'll post the finished dogs tonight as well as the taste test! wink.gif

WOOHOO, 2nd place. didn't think i would score that high.

if i had known i only had to post 1 more shot to win the grand prize of $1000 CASH, 3' 2tiered trophy, gold champions belt and brand new 6burner Weber BBQ, i would have posted a couple more. laugh.gif

seriously though, it was fun posting pics of some of the winter food people eat in here. still waiting for the temps to get up above -20 °C on a day that i'm off, it's just too darn cold for me.

kid: Don't be so humble. It was not about choosing quality or anything like that. It was strictly about WHO POSTED THE MOST PICTURES IN ONE MONTH. wink.gif This is mainly about promoting sharing more photos of several meals - anything to placate our unsatiated appetite for Grill Porn! Trying to stimulate more participation here in the colder months when many members burrow into caves and hibernate! tongue.gif Perhaps in the Spring (when the membership becomes much more active) we can host a "Best Photo" contest, voted on by all the members of the forums. Then you can humble away! smile.gif

But you did a nice job anyway! We do appreciate your input and the nice photos - keep up the good work! Love the snowy pictures of your mid-state of Mass.!

brucered: Loved your response! wink.gif I had thought Shelly was hosting dinner for the winner. Shoot! Had I known top prize was as you stated - I'd of posted pics of my Hershey's candy bars just to move up the list! smile.gif

Looking forward to seeing everyone double their submitted photos this month! Remember - though you may post several pics for each meal, only one from each meal counts towards your totals. Of course - all meals are eligible - breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks - heck - take shots of the dog's dish if you want! Especially if he's eating USDA Prime Sirloin for dindin! laugh.gif I can remember on a few occasions where my dog managed to snitch an unwatched steak or two! blink.gif

Geez! Hope I'm not gonna be the only poster of this months contest! I don't want first place by default! tongue.gif That's okay. I don't mind carrying the ball... biggrin.gif

Dinner tonight. Baseball and hot dogs (we did have the announcements of this year's Hall of Fame entries).

Yep! But good as they were, 'bout the only thing this photo can qualify for is a "quantity" contest! Obviously I have NO PRIDE!
