This is my dad's recipe.

Gene’s Baked Beans

Ingredients

4 cans Bushes Baked Beans
2 to 4 tablespoons of dry mustard (according to taste)
¼ cup Ketchup
¼ cup Brown sugar (more or less to taste)
2 tablespoons of black strap molasses (more or less to taste)
1 onion chopped finely then caramelized in the bacon grease
½ pound of bacon chopped into medium pieces (less or more if you like)

Directions

Mix all ingredients in a crock-pot except the bacon and chopped onion.
Brown the bacon and add it to the crock-pot. Now take the chopped onion and caramelize it in the bacon grease (this takes about 15 to 20 minuets). Once caramelized add the onions and half of the bacon grease to the crock-pot, discard the remaining grease. Add salt and pepper to taste and slow cook for a few hours. Enjoy!

If the taste is not quite right add more Ketchup and Brown sugar.

Another and even tastier option is to place the bean mix in a shallow backing dish, layer strips of bacon across the top and bake in the oven!!!
