my wife and i were at the beach yesterday, Long Branch, such a nice day....anyway a group of families next to us, ask the kids if they want a frankfurter? and the kids say whats that? do kids not know what a frankfurter is?
EZ,
Here's another Jersey man wishing you good luck with your outing!

Seven racks are just perfect for that size party, though if
I were there you'd come up short!

I had a gathering for a party of about 14 a couple of weeks ago, cooked up six racks plus about 1-1/2 dozen chicken drumsticks, four dozen roasted clams and all kinds of sides. My daughter had bar tended summers while in college, and plied her skills at this party - her margaritas were a big hit (along with iced coladas and daiquiris)! We had a great evening, my thoughts are that nothing beats ribs for these summer bashes! See here for my post on our party:
http://www.bbqsource-forums.com/invboard/i...ost&p=31882Frankfurters. Hmmmmm, most kids from the Jersey Shore should know that name, it's very prominent on most boardwalk vendor signs. Maybe they were "bennies" (out of town tourists)...
You are so right on the weather - the Shore couldn't ask for nicer days for this final weekend of the summer! I haven't been up to Long Branch for a couple of years. Did they ever finish the rehabilitation of the Boardwalk and Park? A friend plays lead guitar in a band that performs up there for a charity event on the boardwalk (President's Park) and has been urging me to try and spend a day up there. Perhaps next summer, this one was a bit tight with family health problems and too much work...
Good luck today - will you have time for a few photos?
