cool.

i'm about to fire up my 1st charcoal soon. i got it all cleaned up and i just have to go buy some coals and meat.

your setup looks nice. i like the blue lid kettle on the gold one touch.

Interesting, you could be on to something there. I love my Performer. Too bad you couldn't extend the original gril section in the opposite direction so you could maintain a work area in the middle. That would have been ideal. The attached work area is one of the things I like most about the Performer design.

I like it! Can you take a picture from above the two kettles? I have a new green Performer and picked up another used one yesterday for $40! Just needs a new one-touch cleaning blades ($12).

Could you cut one of the shelves, that you took off. The one side is already the correct shape and you could trace a line from the other one to make a template.

thats a good suggestion....but just in case i get bored again....i may want to convert it back to a single kettle...i was thinking some kind of cutting board/butchers block...

Then you could try getting a piece of corian and cutting it to fit, I just don't know how it would handle the heat. Your best bet would be to have a decent weight piece of stainless that you could get cut to fit.
