I have a old Sunbeam "grill masters" grill with a side burner at our country place. I use the grill frequently, but haven't used the side burner in years. Last weekend I tried to use it and it lites but has a yellow flame that produces soot and an unpleasant smell. I'm assuming that something is clogged somewhere in the burner and is not allowing oxygen to be added to the LP gas, but can't visually see anything. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?

Thanks,

Let me answer this myself in case anyone else has the same problem and runs across this with a search.

The problem was caused by something partially clogging the burner jets. This was resolved by removing the gas line and valve, and blowing out with compressed air.
