i had to sign 3y year (which kind of sucks), got the phone for $99 and only had to pay $15/mth for a voice plan, no data, but i still get WIFI, which is almost everywhere you go. so i can surf and d/l for free. i figure for $15/mth (no extra fees), it's pretty good, and if after 2y i don't like it any more, i just get a used phone and ride out the contract with that one or stick it out with the iphone.
That's alot cheaper than we have here in Georgia. The basic (cheapest) plan is $39.99 a month plus a required $30.00 a month data plan for unlimited internet.
