Full Version: Adding ceramic bricks to a gas grill

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. I was considering this summer adding grills above my burners to accommodate a layer of ceramic bricks. Is it a worthwhile project? My barbeque is nothing fancy (it's a thermos bbq I bought at Canadian Tire) and I'm not upgrading anytime soon. I'm not sure if adding this layer will help, make it worse or do nothing at all. Basically I was going to drill 4-8 holes, stick some bolts through, fasten them with nuts and then rest some grills on the bolts. I would then do a layer of ceramic bricks below my actual grills. I'm guessing I could still have 2-3 inches between the bricks and the cooking grills.

Thanks for the link, that's exactly what I want to do and it looks like a better idea.
